Pădurile Mediul indispensabil vieții omului

The event, now in its third edition, was organized by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oradea, in collaboration with the “Sfânta Maria” Forest District.

The first presentation, titled “The Impact of Climate Change on Forests in Romania,” was delivered by Professor Dr. habil. Eng. Laura Bouriaud from the Faculty of Forestry, “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava.

The second presentation was given by Lecturer Dr. Eng. Ovidiu Hâruța from the Faculty of Environmental Protection, University of Oradea.

The third presentation was held by Associate Professor Dr. Eng. Dan Traian Ionescu from the Faculty of Forestry and Forest Exploitation, “Transilvania” University of Brașov.

The fourth presentation, delivered by Eng. Gabriel S. Oltean, focused on available funding for the creation of new forests, reforestation, and the development of urban mini-forests through NRRP (National Recovery and Resilience Plan) funding.

The fifth presentation was given by Eng. Alexandru Racz, Associate Professor Dr. Eng. Ruben Budău, and Professor Dr. habil. Eng. Adrian Timofte, from the Faculty of Environmental Protection, University of Oradea—also founding members of the Eco Forest Life Association. Their presentation was titled “From Seed to the Tree of Life.”

The sixth presentation was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Mihail Caradaică from SNSPA Bucharest and Executive Director of the Tomorrow’s Forest Foundation. Mihail Caradaică spoke about the importance of agroforestry systems and the carbon credit market, both globally relevant topics.

The final presentation was held by Senior Lecturer Dr. Eng. Mihai Enescu from the Forestry program of the Faculty of Agriculture in Bucharest and representative of the “We Plant Good Deeds in Romania” initiative. Mihai Enescu emphasized the importance of understanding how to manage various urban and peri-urban forests, also referred to as the “green belts” surrounding major cities.
